The "Foodstarter" foodRegio apprenticeship campaign is advertising apprenticeships in the regional food industry at several events.
In addition to presentations given at the “Tag des Berufs” and parent attended job fairs, "Foodstarter" also held an information event at the local TSV Eintracht Gross Grönau sports club.
The current 2015/16 apprenticeship year is already in full swing and the apprentices of tomorrow are already being sought.
188 vacant apprenticeship training positions and a total of 16 different types of vocational education are currently being offered for 2016 on the "Foodstarter" job portal www.foodstarter.de. Participants in this apprenticeship campaign include: Junge Die Bäckerei, Hela, Bockholdt, Wollenhaupt, Nordgetreide, Brüggen and Frey & Lau.
In order to draw young people's attention to various opportunities available to them in the food industry, the "Foodstarter" team took part at the Careers Day at the Friedrich List School (24 Sep.) and the parent attended Job Fair (6 Oct. 2015) where the team informed visitors about the numerous professional career and job opportunities available in the food industry. Of course, our traditional favourite, the "Foodstarter" backpack filled with drinks played a big role at both events and was once again used to serve fruit juices from Junge Die Bäckerei.
One special highlight was the "Foodstarter" information evening organised in collaboration with the TSV Eintracht Gross Grönau sports club. "Foodstarters" have enjoyed a close relationship with this professional club and its 1,500 members from the Lübeck region since May 2015. Both partners work towards one goal, which is encouraging young people to engage in sports,, to think about possible future careers, and to help them find a suitable apprenticeship.
Around 60 young people accepted the joint invitation to the Betty Elias restaurant on Wednesday evening (14 Oct.) in order to find out more about the training options available in the regional food industry. After presenting the "Foodstarter" Job Portal and describing several different professions, Mr Poch, Human Resources Manager at Nordgetreide GmbH & Co. KG, and Ms Kanthak, HumanResources Manager at H. & J. Brüggen KG, talked in more depth about the apprenticeships, development opportunities and conditions for trainees in their respective companies. The information met with an enthusiastic reception. The presentation part of the evening was followed by a goody bag for every participant, including a "Foodstarter" flyer, an overview of all apprenticeships and application options as well as a couple of muesli bars.
